Collection: Mini and Portable Irons

Small irons for small work. This collection covers two related tools: portable steam irons that go where you go, and mini crafting irons built for precision pressing at the table.

Portable steam irons

Compact enough to pack, powerful enough to matter. These handle garments, yardage, and general pressing away from home — retreats, classes, hotel rooms, and anywhere the household iron won't fit in the bag. Look for dual voltage and a high maximum temperature if you need it to replace your regular iron rather than supplement it.

Mini crafting irons

These live beside your machine, not in a suitcase. Narrow tips and long necks reach into corners a standard soleplate can't touch — setting appliqué edges, pressing seams open, fusing small pieces of interfacing. Lightweight enough to press and reposition dozens of times without fatigue. Lower maximum temperatures are common here and often intentional, since fusibles and delicate fabrics don't want high heat.

Choosing between them

  • Pressing garments or yardage? Portable steam iron. You need the heat and the steam.
  • Working on blocks, appliqué, or detail? Mini crafting iron. Tip shape and control matter more than power.
  • Heading to a retreat? Either — but a cordless model spares you the outlet scramble at a shared table.
  • Traveling internationally? Check for dual voltage.
