Panasonic Cordless Advanced Ceramic Quilting Iron
This one is built for quilters specifically, and Panasonic doesn't hide it — the whole design brief was a wider soleplate, stronger steam, and an iron that's still hot when you come back to it.
The soleplate is wide, fully flat, advanced ceramic with a double-tipped shape. Flat means even contact edge to edge with nothing catching on a seam allowance. Double-tipped means you press forward, backward and sideways without turning your wrist — and the narrow tips get into tight spots and delicate edges. The ceramic coating is non-stick and wipes clean, which matters if you work with fusibles, glue or appliqué.
It's cordless. The iron lifts off its base hot and goes back between presses, so no cord drags across the block you just laid out.
The 120-minute auto shut-off is double the NI-QL1000 series' 60 minutes. That's the feature quilters actually notice: cut, sew, press, repeat for two hours and never reach for a cold iron.
Steam comes from focused holes for concentrated pressing power — 12 g/min, stronger than the previous model — and vertical steam handles hanging quilts, drapes and garments with the push of a button. The detachable 160 ml tank refills easily and runs longer between fills, with an anti-calc capsule so tap water won't stain and an anti-drip design that keeps water off your fabric.
1700 watts. When you're done, the cord retracts into the base and the heatproof cover clicks on — pack up and go without waiting for the soleplate to cool.
